b) Promoting appropriate technology and innovation – micro-irrigation, innovative agricultural production techniques and practices;

d) Water recycling and reuse;
e) Adapting to Climate Change and Biodiversity;
f) Providing Regulatory Framework – Mobilizing all stakeholders to self regulate and facilitate equitable availability and affordability of water for agriculture;
g) Providing incentives -through partnerships and making capital intensive water infrastructure attractive to investors.

Nigeria joined ICID in 1970, and since then, has continued to participate actively in ICID activities through the Nigerian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (NINCID), which the Department of Irrigation and Drainage chairs.
